**Dirty English is a modern love story inspired by Pride and Prejudice**
A scarred fighter.
A girl with rules.
One night of unbridled passion.
There are three things you need to know about Elizabeth Bennett: she’s smart as a whip, always in control, and lives by a set of carefully crafted rules. She’s learned the hard way that people you love the most always hurt you in the end.
But then she meets Declan Blay, the new neighbor at her apartment complex.
A tattooed British street fighter, he’s the campus bad boy she’s supposed to avoid, but when he saves her from a frat party gone bad, all her rules about sex and love fly out the window.
She gives him one night of unbridled passion, but he longs for more.
With only a cardboard-thin wall separating their bedrooms, he dreams of possessing the vulnerable girl next door forever.
One night. Two damaged hearts. The passion of a lifetime.
I love a good dirty book! The idea of twin Brits just made me swoon. Dirty English really had me at the beginning.
The prologue was dramatic, vivid and intense; the story which developed from the first pages felt unique and remained powerful.
The writing was strong, fluid and truly enjoyable. I felt that I could easily connect with the characters. Declan is the mixed batch of goodness. He is smart, sexy, sweet and vulnerable whipped together and with the added bonus of an accent. The Britishness with both Dax and Declan was the not overdone and was witty and lovable. Elizabeth is strong and broken and makes no excuses for who she is. What she has been through and continues to endure is heart breaking. The struggles she has been through are life changing and manifests itself understandably.
I was completely hooked and ready for more and then was disappointed that the book ended at about 80% and the remaining was promotional. I felt that there just needed to be more to fully develop this story and round it out. Declan’s past was only glazed over and it began to feel like a large part of the story was missing and was rushed at the end.
Overall, a great read –I just wanted MORE!! Give this a try and find a new Book Crush or two! 4.0 Stars
