He smelled so damn good, clean with a hint of masculine sweat, a temptation I couldn’t resist. Beyond my control, my tongue darted out of my mouth and covertly tasted the section of chest exposed above his tank. Oh God, he tasted even better than he smelled, like a chocolate-covered pretzel—sweet, salty, and addictive.
“Did you just…lick me?” he asked, sounding both shocked and amused.
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“You licked me. I felt it,” he accused, but I noticed he wasn’t complaining.
“Your imagination is running wild because of all the workout endorphins.”
“It wasn’t a complaint. In fact, you’re welcome to have another taste.”
“Fine…I licked you. But it was an involuntary reflex—hot guy, exposed chest…you know how it is.”
“Mmm,” he replied, his eyes darkening with lust. “I am familiar with the temptation, but it’s not a hot guy who’s testing my self-control…it’s a petite, auburn-haired vixen.”

I’m trying to find words to describe my current emotions, because at this moment I’m speechless. To start, this title for Sam’s story couldn’t be more perfect. I tweeted Genna with #puttingtogetherthepieces because this is exactly what Sam’s journey is all about. Where and with whom she finds these pieces is all part of the beautification process in forming her final piece as a whole. I became a supporter for Sam, her cheerleader as I grinned like an idiot while I witnessing her enlightenment of past fears turned triumphs and acceptance of the “new” Sam. I connected with Sam on a soul deep level through her feelings of being shattered, left on the floor in an infinite number of pieces, wondering who would want to bother helping her pick up the mess. Piece #1 & #2 Huntleigh: these 2 fierce, game-playing supporters are her family. They’re dependable and a solid base for Sam’s trust in her future relationships. Piece #3 Griffin: Okay, I have to say that Sam’s ogling of the fine, specimen of a man at her front door BEFORE realizing whom the body belonged to was THE. BEST. DESCRIPTION. EVEEEEEEER! Griffin, that black wall, abs galore, hottest-man-ever is I’m sure a sight to behold. He’s protecting, alpha, smart, supportive, and his words leave me breathless. His journey to Sam brought upon his own enlightenment allowing him to reflect upon his heart’s needs and desires, leading him to his missing piece. Piece #4 Thia: Genna allowed us to be part of Sam’s transformation through her therapy sessions with Thia. Can I say that I fucking love, L O V E, love Thia!!! I want her as my therapist. She’s blunt, doesn’t sugar coat…or she’ll charge extra, she’s hilarious, real, fiery & kept me guessing what she’d possibly throw back at Sam in their banter-filled sessions. Oh…and I’m stealing her Devil’s Advocate game to use with my clients–what a fantastic idea!!! What did I get most out of Sam’s story besides intense pleasure from ogling Griffin right along with her? I got from Sam that no piece to the puzzle is perfect: some pieces are jagged, sharp, some pieces might fit together but if they don’t we find where they do belong, other pieces can always break off/go missing in which we may need to reunite them to their correct home or find something else to fit that hole, while other pieces may become bent and need to be taped together. No matter how complete or incomplete our puzzle is, it’s a work in progress and I believe our puzzles may never be completed because we keep working at finding, maintaining, or sharing with others our happiness. Thank you Genna for sharing Sam’s story with us!! I’m very excited for Meg’s story…ooooooh I know it’s going to be just as great!! Give this a try!! Rating: 5 pieced-together stars
ONLY FOR YOU (For You #1) by Genna Rulon
“In its purest form love is self-sacrificing, eternal, selfless, enduring, truthful, forgiving and indulgent. It also feels an awful lot like a kick to the stomach when you try to fight it!”
All Everleigh Carsen wanted to do was complete her final semester at Hensley University and begin the life she carefully planned.
When a wave of violent crime seizes campus, Everleigh is persuaded by her best friend to attend a school sponsored self-defense seminar, where she meets volunteer instructor, Hunter Charles. After Everleigh’s biting sarcasm induces Hunter to eject her from class, an explosive relationship is born.
Everleigh is determined to forget the striking man, but fate—that fickle shrew—continuously intervenes. Unable to escape him, she declares Hunter an enemy combatant. The only complication…Hunter is resolutely pursuing vindication…by any means necessary. Verbal warfare ensues, and despite Everleigh’s ingenious efforts, in Hunter, she has finally found her equal.
Only For You is a compelling tale of friendship, desire, and redemption—brimming with intelligent characters, witty dialogue, unexpected twists, profound sorrow, unfettered hope, and love’s unassailable perseverance.
