Quarterback Draw by Jaci Burton
Play by Play #9
Playing For Keeps
Grant Cassidy knows how to be a football star—flash that dazzling smile, throw the winning pass, get the girl. But while the hot quarterback loves the game and the lifestyle, no woman has come close to catching his heart. Then he matches wits with a smart, gorgeous model, and Grant finds himself wanting more than a fling.
Supermodel Katrina Koslova might live in a world of glitz and camera flashes, but she works hard to provide for the family that relies on her. She doesn’t have time for fun—much less a boyfriend—but Grant seems determined to be the exception to Katrina’s rule.
From the first few pages of QD I knew I was going to enjoy Grant and Katrina’s story. When you put together a sexy quarterback and a smart, sexy model you get sparks, sweat, and beautiful poses. We’re introduced to the complete Cassidy family and also we get well acquainted with Katrina’s younger siblings, Anya & Leo. Katrina is an overprotective sister as she stepped up as caregiver at a young age. Add in her feelings of abandonment and grief which as a result leaves Katrina playing hard-to-get and doubting herself as a “parent”. The pace was steady, there was no back and forth and their mannerisms blended with their thoughts. The acceptance and encouragement between Grant and Katrina gave allows you to experience the connection and emotions as they occur. There were laughing out loud moments when Anya, Leo and Grant would “prove a point” to Katrina and there were swooning moments while observing Grant’s interactions with Leo & Anya. The banter between Grant and his siblings is something you need to read to appreciate, and has me anxiously waiting the next installment which will feature Grant’s brother, Tucker. Give this a try and find your next book crush! Rating: 4 stars
